05 Sep Team Terrible Join Scottish Games Week 2023 As Platinum Sponsor
Team Terrible, the Dundee-based studio responsible for The Baby In Yellow – one of the most downloaded games ever created in Scotland – has joined forces with Scottish Games Week 2023 as the event’s Platinum sponsor.
This will give the studio a high-profile presence across the whole week-long programme of events, which take place in Edinburgh, Dundee and Glasgow from October 30th – November 3rd.
A Dark Past
Founded in 2020 by Greg Lee and Aaron Baumbach, Team Terrible’s first game was the result of a game jam competition in which the pair came up with the idea of a game based around babysitting a demonic toddler.
The response to the dark-humoured, spine-chilling The Baby In Yellow was so good that the duo decided to release it for mobile phones – where it ‘went viral’.
By 2022 the game was available for mobile and PC and had achieved over 100 million downloads – making it one of the most downloaded games ever created in Scotland (for comparison, Minecraft has had 238 million downloads and GTA V 185 million).
The Baby In Yellow was also the first recipient of the first-ever Best Small Budget Game at the inaugural Scottish Games Awards.
In 2023 and 2024 the studio has plans for a major expansion of its team and will be actively recruiting to bring The Baby In Yellow to console and complete the whole sinister tale.

Aaron Baumbach, co-founder of Team Terrible, agrees: “There’s a fabulous community of games companies across the country, but we rarely get a chance to meet and talk – especially here in Scotland. Chris Scullion, the chair of judges for the Scottish Games Awards in 2022 and 2023, said: “Team Terrible is a true Scottish success story, with over 170 million downloads. Getting scares right in a horror game is much easier said than done, but The Baby in Yellow’s success shows that Team Terrible has pulled it off in style.”
